This handcrafted wood book with hand-carved Ouroboros design is approximately 7 x 5.5 inches in size and made of mahogany wood with Danish oil and bees wax finishing. It has 384 pages of blank, acid-free, ecological pulp paper, which was hand-bound using four needles and waxed cords to create compact chain stitches that tightly connect the pages onto the cover.

This technique is known as Coptic binding, an ancient way of binding books used by early Christians in Egypt and dates back to as early as 2nd century AD to the 11th century. Coptic-bound books are perfect for diary writing, art journaling, sketchbook and scrapbooking as it allows the book to be laid flat and opened up to 360 degrees.

The Ouroboros is a circular symbol of a snake or a dragon swallowing its own tail. It is an ancient universal symbol that has evolved throughout human history and represents concepts in connection to the cyclical nature of life and the pursuit of wisdom and transcendence.*

This book is a labor of love and was built to last. This is a collaborative work with wood carver Luey Capa.
